In My Mailbox - July 4th

In My Mailbox is an awesome meme hosted by The Story Siren.

First things first, please check out my first contest - for an ARC copy of Candle Man.

Alright guys! I made out like a bandit this week and I'm already behind on my reading as it is!

Monday:
I won a copy of Bloody Good by Georgia Evans from Fantastic Book Review. Thanks for holding such great contests!
Tuesday:
I won an ARC copy of Beautiful Creatures and other goodies from Must and Lust for Books. Thanks tons! I can't wait to read this one!

And I also got my goodies from Jessica Verday for her upcoming book The Hollow. You can get goodies too from her website!

I decided my corkboard needed some updating, I don't think I had changed it up since middle school. So here it is! That weird gear thing in the middle is from the library I work in. One of our programs is to promote reading through the Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award. It's an Illinois thing. Check it out. A board of librarians pick 20 books each year and then the kids have to read at least 3 to vote on their favorite book. To make it even more fun, we made gear cut outs and had the kids update them every time they read a book on the list. I read all 20 of course - my favorite of which was The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.

Oh, I almost forgot! I was asked to review an e-book by Kathi Wallace. It's fairly short and looks interesting:

It will be my first E-book ever! :) Not sure how I feel reading from a computer, but I'm giving it a shot!

Wednesday:

Okay, I broke down and went to Borders and bought Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler, because no stinkin' library has it available and I wanted to read it for the 20 Things in 20 Days Scavenger Hunt - ending July 7th! I already read it - so read my review!

I also bought Nothing But Ghosts by Beth Kephart for the Nothing but Ghosts Book Drive over at My Friend Amy's Blog, which they just extended until July 24th. You can win some great prizes while buying this awesome looking book!

Thursday:

Jack Regan sent me an email early this week, wanting to know if I wanted to read and review his book. I've wanted to read this one since I heard about it, so I said yes (of course I did!) and he even signed it. Thank you Jack!

Library Books:

I know, I have a serious problem when it comes to libraries. Here's all the books I got from the library this week:

A Map of the Known World by Lisa Ann Sandell
Gothic Lolita by Dakota Lane
ghostgirl Homecoming by Tonya Hurley
Blue Moon by Alyson Noel (I'm so lucky!)
Red Glass by Laura Resau
What the Moon Saw by Laura Resau
Honey, Baby, Sweetheart by Deb Caletti
Wild Roses by Deb Caletti
The Nature of Jade by Deb Caletti

Also, once again I want to let you know that I'm holding my first contest - so CHECK IT OUT!

Happy Fourth of July and thanks for tuning in!

  3. Wow. Lots of great books! I'm really jealous of Beautiful Creatures; it seems amazing. I couldn't find Twenty Boy Summer either and had to resort to buying it. Deb Caletti's good, and I especially like Wild Roses. Happy reading! :)

  15. Gosh, so many books! You must be the craziest reader I've met (which is a good thing). I'd bet you're a fast reader too. I should learn from you.

I'm also reviewing an e-book for the first time (He Who Sings Last by Lisa Laird DiRosso). I couldn't get a physical copy 'cause they said it would cost too much for the publisher to ship to Canada. We'll I'll say...

I'd love to get my hands on those Beautiful Creatures and The Hollow goodies too. You're lucky lucky lucky. I'll take a look at that contest! =) Thanks for stopping by my blog. =)

    Happy Readings! =)
