This book really spun my mind around. It was a little more... sci-fi ... than what I thought it would be. I love the hilarious Ice Cream truck that keeps appearing, almost hitting Sophie from time to time. I love the comic in the middle and the way everything just makes you go "Huh?".
I had to take a step back and really look at this book and realized, that was a really entertaining read. Fade to Blue makes you think about what's going on and the way it spins things around your head.
I can't really explain what it is, but I loved the book. It had a creepy tinge to it at times, but other than that it was seriously entertaining.

It has such an interesting cover and from your review, I feel like I want to read it. I always love a sense of creepiness in books :P

ReplyDeleteBut the fact that you say it's more sci-fi than you thought..I'm more interested. It seems different and fun. Creepy, dizzily thought-provoking, oddly entertaining--sounds good. As if I'll like it just because.

Mmmmm ice cream. For some odd reason, this makes me think of Donnie Darko, when he keeps seeing that rabbit. And speaking of rabbits, I really want to see Harvey!

ReplyDeleteI really liked this one too! It does have a bit of creepiness. As I read it, I often felt like I was in a dream along side the characters which I thought was REALLY awesome :D

ReplyDeleteEverytime I see the cover and the title I keep thinking this is based on a comic that came out years ago of the same name. Its NOT of course, but the title keeps tricking me XD
