2nd Bloggiesta Finish Line!

After nearly 13 hours of being on the computer today, I am done! Well.. a blogger's work is NEVER done. I have completed 29 hours of blog work!

Here's an overall wrap-up:

Mini-challenges:
1. New Years Resolution with Rebecca from The Book Lady’s Blog (do a search cause I'm lazy)
2. Copyright with Pam from Bookalicio.us (in the footer!)
3. Beth Fish Reads mini-challenge with tips on how to label your posts! (did all 500 posts!!!)
4. Kept on the Comment Challenge with Pam from MotherReader (15 comments today, 40 total!)
5. Worked on cheat sheet (still need to add a few things)! What a great idea, Danielle from There’s a Book!
6. Backed up my blog thanks to instructions from Jackie from Farm Lane Books
7. Looked for deadlinks and haven't found any yet! Thanks Karin from Karin’s Book Nook for pointing out the programs to use to help with this!
8. Added my two best posts (or at least I think) to the top, right sidebar. Thanks Chelle from Tempting Persephone for this mini-challenge!
9. Brainstormed some blog ideas with Jenn from Jenn’s Bookshelves - great ideas came from this!
10. Did my own mini-challenge. I added a little section on how to get three columns on your blog.

Old Mini-Challenges
1. Graded my website again. I know I've gone up quite a bit. Fun fact - last Bloggiesta I was at 36 and bopped myself up to a 55. I am NOW at 97. How cool is that? Added the button to my blog in the side column. (Ruth from Bookish Ruth)
2. Redid my gravatar and favicon with some reminders from Trish from Hey Lady! Watcha Readin’?
3. Buddied up with Kate from The Neverending Shelf during most of this event. We helped each other out and distracted each other as well. But twas a fun time! (Amy from My Friend Amy )
4. Cleaned up my Google reader - ditched 150 old blogs that rarely posted or hadn't posted in months. (Rebecca at The Book Lady’s Blog)

What else did I do?

  • Got through my 500+ Google Reader feeds
  • Wrote 4 individual reviews and a 5-in-1 kids series review.
  • Changed my feed reader and button
  • Updated the About section on the menubar
  • Updated the Review Policy section on the menubar
  • Put the last books I need for the Graphic Novel (MG) category of the CYBILS Award Challenge on hold at the library
  • Packaged up my last two contest books to go out and got them off to the P.O.
  • Rearranged my sidebars
  • Did Vlog and posted In My Mailbox
  • Scheduled Monday's post
  • Scheduled 5 Waiting on Wednesday posts
  • Scheduled 7 Blogger Spotlight posts and emailed blogger their spotlight dates
  • Emailed any new bloggers interested in a spotlight (5-10)
  • Came up with another brilliant idea thanks to Kate at The Neverending Shelf - another joint project of sorts. So, emailed a few authors for those events coming up. :)
  • Ordered bookmarks for my blog!
  • Made an author feed folder in my Google Reader
  • Added a re-tweet button and moved my Digg button to the bottom of the post

I wish I had gotten to:
  • Rainy day posts
  • Going through my inboxes
  • Wrote more reviews (4 books left to review now!)
  • Started more challenges and added them to my sidebar (will do this week!)
  • Working on contest entries

Alas, you can only accomplish so much in 29 hours.. lol.

Well, it was fun Bloggiesta! Until June! :)

  3. I agree to some extent.... I do believe that when running to first, when you launch to dive into the bag, time is lost while in flight.. If still running at full speed that no time is lost, But I see your point by laying out your finger tips would in theroy would reach the bag sooner....

  6. Amazing! You accomplished so much! Way to go! I really want you to help me on the website grader thing. I actually did this challenge and only got up to a 78, all I can figure is I haven't been around long enough? Who knows?
    Anyways, great job!

  7. There are so many great book blogs out there – I love visiting blogs by other readers not only to pick up the titles of some great new and classic books, but also to join in the chat about book-related topics. There really is a sense of community and I have enjoyed slowly becoming a part of the existing book blogger circle of friends.
