News!

  • I hope everyone had a happy Valentine's day! I know I did. I went to a V-day book signing with Kimberly Pauley, Kristina Springer and Kristin Walker. There was a lot of goodies and it was fun to see Kristina trying to convince people to come over and have some freebies. I got my ARC of A Match Made in High School signed and then Kimberly signed an ARC of her 2nd book Still Sucks to Be Me - I saw on her blog that she was going to have a few copies with her. I was the only blogger/fan who showed up and we stayed for a good hour and a half. Kristina was successful at getting some other people to come over and a few even bought some of the books! :-D
  • Then, my hubby and I went out for dinner and off to see Percy Jackson and the Olympians - which was pretty good. :)
  • Here's a few pics of the signing:

My hubby and me! :)

  1. Is this your first time through the Sisterhood books? I loved them! My teenage sister and I read them together.

  6. I really want to read Magyk. I even went so far as buying it for my 11-year-old cousin with plans of borrowing it, but I haven't gotten around to that part yet! Enjoy your books!

  9. I can't wait to read your review of A Cinderella Society. I just got it as a review copy, but haven't tackled it yet.

I also just got Meridian from the library. I love ghost stories and as soon as I finish some review copies I have to do first, I will be reading that one. I had my eye on that one for a while.

Great list of books! Happy reading!

  11. Wow, you had a good reading week, and the book signing sounds like fun!

    My son enjoyed Magyk.

I finished Everwild by Neil Shusterman, the sequel to Everlost - a wonderful series!

I just started Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger - strange characters so far but I had trouble putting it down last night!

  14. I enjoyed the traveling pants - in fact my book club decided to read this several years ago for our July selection (to channel our preteen children, we met for chips, salsa and drinks to discuss it). A great memory!

  19. I always admire those bloggers that can read so many books in one week.

I had a very difficult time with 13 Reasons because of the fact that I teach teens and this message, and this character is not someone who I want to deal with when I'm trying to find reading material for struggling readers. Still, a lot of people like it.

    Happy reading week.
    Here's my week

  25. You and the hubs are so cute! Thanks for coming out and keeping us company. I was such a zombie that day. Even the steady ingestion of Kimberly's chocolate didn't help. But it didn't hurt, either. haha.

I hope we run into each other again soon!
    XO
