I posted up a contest for The Iron King late last night - I mixed up dates.. I know.. I'm only human.
Now to answer some questions!!!
Chelleyreads asked:
If you can be any YA character from any YA book you've ever read, which one would you be and why?
I would totally be Alanna from the Alanna series by Tamora Pierce. Why? Because she has many wonderful people around her, fantastic adventures, and in the end picks the guy I would have picked! If you have not read this series, you really should. I would TOTALLY be Alanna if I could...
Wrighty asked:
I've had a wonderful time blogging as well but it's hard work and there are always challenges. What do you think has been your biggest challenge and how did you handle it?
I have to say my biggest challenge was keeping up. This past month or so I feel like I've relied too heavily on Memes and haven't been keeping up with reviews. I know that doesn't seem like much, but I feel like it's this big ongoing challenge of mine - to find the time to keep up and with the summer off hopefully I can work out some sort of schedule that will work all year for me. *crosses fingers*
Jan Van Harz asked:My question is how often during the week do you spend visiting other book blogs?
Okay, this is my guilty conscience weighing in.. TECHNICALLY.. I spent about 5 or 6 hours a week on Google Reader looking through blogs. I live for Google Reader - unfortunately that means I don't always comment, but simply read. I'm trying to get better, but I'll never be able to comment much during the school year with my schedule, but this summer I hope to comment on blogs at least 10 - 20 times a day which means a couple of hours more a week depending.
If you have another question that's popped up, leave it below! :-D I'm having fun with these.
Ooh your choice of Alanna is awesome. She is so cool. I think if I could be any YA character I'd be Katsa from Graceling.

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Alanna--that series was some of the first YA fantasy I read. Great choice!
ReplyDeleteI don't always comment either. Sometimes you just don't have the time or sometimes just not sure what to say so it doesn't sound like something you have already said.
ReplyDeleteI love the Alanna series! Also commenting is something I do when I can and I wish I could do it more, hopefully (like you) I will do it more this summer!
ReplyDeletethanks for answering my question :)
ReplyDeletealanna is awesome! i discovered that series in middle school and it got me hooked on fantasy for a long while. though i have to admit i wished she chose prince jonathan instead.
I dont always comment especially if I dont think I can contribute anything. I love reading the posts though.
ReplyDeleteGreat answers :) Your right, this is fun lol.
ReplyDeleteI thought of something else. I can't remember if you have answered anything similar. What has been the biggest honor you have received while blogging?
10-20 comments a day? That sounds kinda extreme. Usually I don't post comments unless they're constructive ones...
ReplyDeletebig fan of Alanna so can definitely see why you would be her. I think after Alanna I'd be Kaylin (Cast series) or Karigan (green rider) and maybe Tdor (Sherwood Smith) so I could be a awesome guy.
ReplyDeleteSeahn
Well, I never read anything from the Tamora Pierce. And I never heard about it until last few month from a fellow blogger. And of course, I cant really keep up with comments but i try my best to reply anyone who regularly comments at my blog. I pay visits too. But then, everyone have their personal reasons too.
ReplyDeleteI agree Alanna is an amazing character, and Pierce is one of my favorite writers too. This would be a difficult question for me to anwser. Even now I am having a difficult time thinking about who I would chose to be most like.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad for not posting comments. I do that all the time.
ReplyDeleteI love the Alanna choice too. It never hurts to pick the right guy. :)
I, too, spend a lot of time reading other blogs. I don't spend as much time as you do, but I wish that I could! I love reading other blogs because I get to see new ideas and memes and contests and read reviews. It has really made me feel more connected to the YA world, which is an awesome feeling!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could ever post 10- 20 comments a day. I just don't have enough time.
ReplyDeleteAlanna is a great pick, but I think I'd rather be Katsa from Graceling.
ReplyDeleteI am riddled with guilt for my inability to keep up with my Google Reader, but I'm trying to get better at commenting. Good luck!
I'm with you on google reader - a good day usually sees me commenting on four or five posts. I've definitely got to put in more effort.
ReplyDeleteThe most difficult part of blogging is definitely keeping up. I can never comment on everybody's blogs. I think it's good that you're trying, though! :)
ReplyDeleteOmg...I'm not even going to confess to how many hours I'm on Google Reader..let's just say that I follow over 150 blogs and they post quite consistently *it's a serious addiction I tell ya*
ReplyDeleteSadly, I don't comment most of the time too. :(
ReplyDeleteONLY 5 or 6 hours a week surfing the blogs through your google reader. Gasp! Most of my reading is on blogs, not in books. Slinking away to my corner now.
ReplyDeleteKeeping up is indeed a hard work. My main problem tend to be the lack of ideas when it comes to review writing. I'm pretty new blogger myself and I'm hoping that I could improve in time. I am amazed that you're capable of reading a lot in a week and also review a lot for that week also. I always wonder what your recipe really is!
