Description: Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.

My Thoughts: When I finished Delirium I was a mix of emotions. I couldn't believe it ended the way it did. I was heartbroken. I was teary eyed. I must have the next book!
Truthfully this was a different feeling than when I finished Oliver's first book, Before I Fall. There were things that I liked and things that I didn't. So, when it came to Delirium I was initially unsure I wanted to read it even though it sounded good. But, when I got surprised by an ARC of Delirium I figured I would give it a shot. I am so glad that I did!
Deliruim is a wonderful, tragic, heartbreaking love story. There could be plenty of people in teh world that have been hurt so badly by love that they wouldn't mind having the part of themselves that loves taken out. This story gives you insight to what a world like that could be like. A world where you have to get evaluated before surgery then your path in life for after surgery gets choosen for you. If you don't then you run the risk of going "crazy" by falling in love with someone.
Lena has been ready to have her surgery since she saw what happened to her mother ande her sister. While she has worry and doubts she knows they will disappear once she has surgery. But, then she meets Alex and of course everything changes but is weird for her at first because she has had very little interaction with boys.
I must know what will happen next with Lena. Her whole world has changed and I have questions I need answered. I don't want to list them because I don't want to give anything away.

  1. The ending is cruel, isn't it? But she ensured that I would want to read the sequel!
