The Catching Up Readathon

Do you go on Goodreads? Are you doing the Reading Challenge? Does it say you're behind? Astronomically behind? Well, it does for me. 28 books behind! I need a kick in the butt. With the long weekend coming up (thanks to a certain Christian holiday), I figured now is as good as any to try and get caught up.

And why not share the readathon love?

And to make it fun... you can win a prize from my book stack of giveaways (which I will post later). One random participant will win a prize. Woot! :)

So details, details.

When: Thursday, April 21st through the end of Monday, April 25th. Any time zone, start when you want, read when you want.
Where: Here, on your blog, on your couch, on Goodreads.. wherever!
What: Read books - duh! If you'd like to make a goal, go ahead.

My goal... is to cut that number in half, not have more than 14 books behind after the readathon. So that could mean 14 books or even more.

You can find me on twitter @bookgoil for questions, or here. Sign up below on the linky. If you don't have a blog, use your goodreads page, twitter, or even facebook. :)

  1. Yay! My goodreads likes to tell me I'm behind, too - this will help!

  2. I'm 5 books ahead so far, but this sounds like a great challenge! I'll challenge myself to stay ahead, haha.

  3. 300 books! Goodness! That is a serious goal. I put mine at 125 since I read 120 last year. Happily I am actually ahead of my goal. ;) I guess that's a good thing since I have been on a pretty bad reading slump this month. Last April I got 13 books read, I'm only up to 5 this month. Nothing seems to be hooking me. I hate that!

I am looking forward to my 4-day weekend next week to try and read more!! Good luck!

Right now on my Goodreads, I'm actually ahead! Good luck on your reading!

  5. I'm ahead at the moment but my reading has been slowing down considerably and since this is when my holidays are, I am definitely going to be doing this one!

  8. This is an amazing idea, I'm participating! I am a good chunk of reading behind so this will be good for me. :) Thanks for this!

  10. :) I'm ahead, thanks to the recent Dewey's, but I can always be MORE ahead (I marked mine own at 250 books, since that's about how much I read each year).

    I'm in :)

  11. Don't know if you knew, but I have my seasonal week long read-a-thon scheduled to start Monday the 25th and it runs through May 1st. If you would like to join us for it as well! Here's the sign up and info link: http://thetruebookaddict.blogspot.com/2011/04/springs-serenity-read-thon-sign-up.html Hope you'll think about joining us!

Unfortunately, I probably will not be able to participate in yours...I have to move stuff out of my old house this week. I may be able to do it on Thursday as my husband is going to the zoo with my son's school. I'll think on it and may come back!

By the way, my Goodreads tracker states that I'm 17 books behind on my goal...yikes!

  12. You're behind as many books as I've read this year, or just about.

Even though I have to work on Thursday and Friday, I'll still try to participate in this one. I'll try to have five books read during the readathon. They may end up being very short books, but I'll still give it my all and see what I can achieve. Best of luck catching up!

  14. I hadn't been paying attention to where I was on my reading goal on Goodreads but I just checked and happily I am eight books ahead. I do however have a ton of library books, books for review, and books purchased to read. They are stacked in my office, on my dresser, on the floor, etc. and I'd like to get rid of them (the library books anyway) so I am signing up for your readathon! Unfortunately I have to work on Friday but I will still have plenty of time to read over the weekend. Thanks for hosting this!

  15. I'm 11 books behind. At least it's term break so I might have enough time to read at least 10 in 2 weeks. I hope I can catch up. Great challenge!

  20. Sounds like fun!!!! I'm not too behind but I was planning to get a lot of reading done during my spring break. Not much luck yet.... Hopefully this will get me motivated!

  22. I'm so sad I missed this! I totally would have participated! Fairy Tale Fortnight is SO time consuming that I haven't had a chance to really read the blogs that I follow. :(

    Sigh.
