National Poetry Month Day 12

Fire and Ice by Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

  1. One of my favorite poems, and the one I always quote to students who complain that they need to memorize something. Sigh.

  2. I remember this from 4-5th grade. I liked it, but always bugged me that the last two lines were so much shorter.

  3. This is actually one of my favorite poems (along with Poe's The Raven); so glad to see it spotlighted!

Leave some love!
