Teaser Tuesday - The Other Side

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's teaser is from a nonfiction book about ghosthunting called The Other Side: A Teen's Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal by Marley Gibson, Patrick Burns, and Dave Schrader.

Trance mediums are not very common, as many psychics are a bit skeeved out by the idea of allowing their body to be controlled by outside forces. And seriously... can you blame them?

  1. A vapor rose around the net, heavy with the noxious fumes of garlic and rosemary. My mind was poisoned; my head swam, my muscles sagged ...

From the Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud.

    Love that book!

  2. I would be pretty skeeved out by the idea of allowing my body to be controlled by an outside force.

I'm all about the paranormal stuff, but I've never read a nonfiction book about things like ghosthunting. I do love Paranormal State on TV though.

  9. Yup ... I'd have to draw the line at allowing anybody to possess my body. Unless it was ghost who'd have a burning desire to clean my house from top to bottom. ;-)
