Alright, I'm breaking down - even though I could finish a book or two today, I'm posting my list...
I have read nearly 250 books this year. See my list here.
Out of those books, it was tough to pick 9. . . so I'm picking 20 AND I'm not ordering them :-P It was hard enough selecting 20, I'm NOT ordering them.
So, in any random order.. these are the 20 BEST reads of 2009 for me. They all touched me in a different way or surprised me so much that it had to make this list.

And best series that I finished this year:

Ooh. You read I AM THE MESSENGER this year! What a read. I love that book to pieces. Best series I read this year? The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting. I love BEAUTIFUL CREATURES, THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH, I AM THE MESSENGER, and JESSICA'S GUIDE. I am so jealous that you read 250 books this year. I can't seem to get past 115 books.

Great favs list. I read a few of the same books and only Catching Fire made my list. It was hard to choose.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome list, I love how you have "on the Jellicoe Road" on it, it was my favourite read this year (So many good books though!). I've read quite a few others from your list too :)
ReplyDelete250 books!! I cant even make it to 100. Great list some of my favorites are on there.
ReplyDeleteI've had I AM THE MESSENGER for ages...need to take the plunge and read it!
ReplyDeleteI see some of my fav up there!

ReplyDeleteThere are great books on your list. Artemis Fowl (awesome!). Paper Towns (awesome!) I'm reading Leviathan right now, and liking it quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great books here and a lot that I haven't seen on other lists. Off to Goodreads to check them all out...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list! I have not read most of these books, although most of them are on my TBR pile! I loved Catching Fire, Leviathan and The Forest of Hands and Teeth, too. And I cannot wait to read Beautiful Creatures!
ReplyDeleteGreat list although I haven't read any of them.. I know! How can that be. I do have Beautiful Creatures awaiting to be read and reviewed so will read that one soon.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
There are some great books on there! And some I haven't gotten to yet, but I'm excited to read them!
ReplyDeleteNice list! I have quite a lot of these in my TBR pile - 2010 will be the year for them, I can tell!
ReplyDeleteTwenty Boy Summer and If I Stay are also on my "Best of 2009" List. Looks like you read great books last year. Hopefully this year will be just as good.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2010! May it be filled with great books!
I see a couple of things that I need to read on your list.
ReplyDeleteBest of 2009 like published in 2009 or read in 2009?
Best published in 2009 is probably Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd and best read but not published in 2009 were probably Gemma Bovary and Alice in Sunderland. Granted this list could go a loooot longer....
I love that your list is right at the top of your blog (Can I steal that idea?)...
ReplyDeletePercy Jackson and Suzanne Collins are both on my Top 10 list of 2009 as well! I really need to read Lament, I love Maggie Steifvater (I have Linger on my desk calling to me!)
Great list! Great to finally find you!
OMG you read 250 books in 1 year??? Wow!!! Lets see...I have Twenty boy summer (have yet to read it), Catching fire was awesome, and Fire was great, If I stay is on my list SOON, Beautiful Creatures I read, and I think that's it. I always get to books way after they are released. :( I'm behind!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'd love to do something like that at the end of the year.
This is an interesting list. I love the Artemis Fowl books, and Catching Fire was amazing. I really want to read Jellicoe and Fire. I recently read Graceling and I am in love with Cashores story telling.
