I have been meaning to read the Lioness series and I Am the Messenger, and give Bloody Jack a try. You've just reminded me and I'll try to push them up on my priority list :)

Surprisingly, I also agree about Pantalaimon, I would never have thought of him though because I wasn't a huge fan of the HDM trilogy.
I love the Bloody Jack series too! I am currently listening to In The Belly of the Bloodhound. Going to check out I Am Messenger.
