Tell me a bit about yourself.
Confessions of my life aye? Well I am a undercover teenage girl who is secretly from Planet X(squared) I am here on Earth to find the best books to take back to the Queen of the Faeries. Okay, only the teenage part is true the rest is just a fragment of my imagination (hehe). Anyhow, I currently live in Australia with my addiction to books. In my free time I like to read and read and read (oh and blog :P ...and add daydream to that too), However before you say "you have no life" when I'm not reading I like to hang out with friends, hit the beach, go shopping (mainly books and only when I'm not broke) and well that's pretty much it about me...now you can say you don't have a life *cries*. =)

When and why did you start your blog?
I started my blog a little over three months ago simply because there was no one I could really understand my love of books. Everyone around me would rather watch Glee or Gossip Girl or Modern Family (not that I don't watch TV it's just second preference)so I decided to join the wider community who actually appreciate books! Special credit goes to Karin from Karin's Book Nook for it was her blog that got me thinking about starting my own blog!

What is your blog all about? Any cool features you want to share?
I dedicate my blog to reviewing YA, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy and Chick Lit Literature however I usually just Review YA unless it's a cross between two genres. I have a blog feature called Three Wishes Wednesday that is basically three wishes on Wednesday (pretty simple) and recently started one called Writer's Block which I am beginning to feel is the biggest epic fail EVER but you know.....

What are some of your favorite genres and/or books currently?
My favorite genres include YA, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy and the occasional Chick Lit. I am currently reading the Second Short Life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Meyer. I'm also reading Iron King by Julie Kagawa (although this is a on and off one for I have been reading this for the last two month) I'm reading another few that I can't remember right now! (Start too many!)

How do you find out about the books you read?
Ummmm mostly through other blogs by reading review and wishlists. Goodreads is a big influence as well. Libraries and bookshops and sometimes I check out books by the same author.

Any tips or advice for those starting or thinking about starting a blog?
Well I've only been blogging for so long and kinda not in the position to give advice but Catchy Titles are always good! Also, treat your blog like a Barbie - MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL!!!! Join meme's and blog directories and that's about it...

Fun advice! Make sure to check out Lisa's blog. :)

  1. One of the things I have been pleasantly surprised about since I started blogging was the number of youth and young adults who are blogging. To hear most people tell it, teens and young adults are only interested in IMing, texting, or partying. Good for Lisa for being a proud teen reader and blogger!

  3. I love how many teenagers are out there blogging - I would have totally been all over this scene as a teenager. Technology can cause some horrible things (texting at the Thanksgiving table anyone?) but also some really great things - just like the gal featured here =)

  6. I love that so many teenagers are excited about books! I was the same way when I was younger but I was in the minority :)

Great blog Lisa - love the name! Love the background too :)

  7. The diversity of book bloggers is definitely awesome! Also, I'm totally with Lisa on getting most of my book recommendations now from other bloggers. I think I may start putting in my reviews whether I heard about it from a blogger and if so, which one. Nice interview!

  8. I'm always surprised by how many teenage book bloggers I stumble across. I actually follow your blog, one of a few teens who I read, and who are responsible for my increase in YA lit reading! :-)

  9. It's great to hear from people from other countries blogging. For some reason I tend to think we're all from the U.S. and then I'm surprised at 1) how far reaching the blogosphere is and 2) how wide the age spread is-who says teens don't read? They need to check out the blogs. Very good interview and I will check out Badass Bookie! Thanks for pointing her out to us Kristen.

  12. Lisa, has a very funny personality. I am a little upset I didn't know about her blog sooner- I missed the zombie/angel showdown. :(
