So, I've always wanted to host a challenge... but all my ideas were done already. And then I had a brilliant idea. I need to catch up on a favorite series of mine and what better way than a challenge. I absolutely love L.A. Meyer's Bloody Jack series, which has 8 books published in it right now (and a 9th coming out in October). They're pretty thick, so I figure a full year challenge can easily be accomplished.

So, I hope some of you will join me. I have a few different levels you can look at:

Crow's nest - This is for those who aren't sure about the series. Read at least one of the novels in the series.
Batten down the hatches - For those of us that have started the series, but not finished it, either pick up where you left off and finish the series.
Dead men tell no tales - Read the whole series. Whether it's a re-read, first time, or even more than your second time.

Rules:
-Anyone can join.
-Please post somewhere on your blog (if you have one) that you're participating. (You can steal that button up there too!)
-You can join at anytime. The challenge runs from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011 (even though this is late.. if you started one, it counts!)

Giveaway!
Oh, and as some incentive. . . I'll be giving away a book from the series, whichever one you need, want, etc. to one random participant. I'll be pulling a name from the Linky below to win on February 1st. So, if you don't have a blog, link up to your facebook, goodreads, shelfari, twitter or some sort of account so I can get a hold of you. :)

I will have a linky up for reviews as well, wherever you review your books, and may also do a random giveaway at the end of the year from those. :)

I will be taking on the Dead men tell no tales level as I feel it's time for a re-read and I have yet to finish the last two books in the series. I may try out some of the audiobooks since I hear they are fantastically narrated.

Here is the list of books in order:

Bloody Jack: Being an Account... Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy (Bloody Jack, #1)

  5. I was JUST SAYING that I wanted to read these, and asked someone what they thought of them. Good, I'm guessing.
I need to make up a challenge post, and I'm thinking this will make the list. :)

  11. I just found this, but I've already reached Dead Men Tell No Tales. LOL! I got the 9th book ARC over the summer, and I spoke to LA Meyer for an interview last Saturday. Via email he said he was too busy to type all his answers to my many questions and would prefer calling me instead! Can you believe it? I was so nervous. It was a great interview, except that it's difficult to take notes and talk on the phone.

I hope everyone is doing great on their challenge.
